Prologue
Backstage as Winter Fairy in "Cinderella"
Ruminations by a Rogue Ballerina (that’s me) is a blog highlighting Chicago-based dancers, choreographers, directors and all-around artsy performance folk. Covering everything from works-in-progress, upcoming shows, behind-the-scenes scoops, dancer backgrounds and philosophies, choreographic intentions, reflections on careers and words of advice, I hope this will be a place the local dance community can come to gain inspiration, insight and knowledge of what’s going on in artistically in our fabulous city.
Speaking of works-in-progress…PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! Just like my eternal struggle with fouettes, I will be trying different techniques (interviews, narratives, bios, commentary) to see what works and what doesn’t, so comments are encouraged. Let me know what you like, what should change, what you’d like to read about, events or people you’d like covered…and I’ll see what I can do.
Merde!

Beautiful blog!
Thank you so much!
Just love your site! I’ll be back. 🙂
Love your reviews and commentary. Got some of your stuff on Hubbard Street Dance Chicago in my press kit for their recent performance in Berkeley, CA. Super insightful…
